Features: Leafwing / Rainwing Hybrid, Leaf slightly more dominant in shape, but Rain abilities to say the least
Powers: Winged Flight, Vegas is quick to fly, but not very durable in the air. She can lift only a little, 2-3 human-sized weights, for any duration. She's really light in the air though, with flitting and flutting, giving most Silkwings a good run for their dodge money. She can and has flown upside down and sideways, she can go pretty much any direction, just not remarkably fast or for very long.
Communication, Vegas is quite good with English and Spanish, she knows virtually no Draconic and she is trying to learn it, but with few dragons of her breed around directly that is taking a while. She speaks in a loud, high voice, usually rapidly, very excited sounding at almost all times. Since she doesn't have a human bond, she doesn't really show up much on Vortal scales.
*Color Shifting, where her Leafwing side is strongly physical in its expression, that Rainwing dad of hers absolutely shines with this girl's vibrant markings and her control over them. Though usually she keeps the colors on her body and limbs a more or less sedate green shade (sometimes ranging into more camo-green and olive drab depending) all of her scales can change pretty radically. Her belly and webbing have been known to 'scroll' through that rainbow or produce zigzag effects, at the same time her wingsails do the best live advertising that the Strip has ever seen. Note that while the designs she shows below are abstract, she is learning the alphabet and even fonts, from that one glass and sign-maker over by the Vault in the Strip. Working with 'Michael Angelo' she shows off her neon signage, knowing that bright works well on very dark, so much of the time her wingsails are black with vibrant words or images being animated on them. The brighter green edges and leads tend toward that same bright green tone but still flicker with energy. She can emulate nearly any image she's seen, given enough study time, or its simplicity. She does know how to write 'Lucky 38' and 'The Tops!', though the Gamorra and other hotel logos have been a little trickier.
Venom Bite, rather than having any form of Leafwing powering up, she must rely on hunting and eats her share after taking down a brahmin or bighorner. Her venom is pretty weak, enough to stun prey, but if for any reason she gets distracted and lets it wander off, it will recover if the bite itself hasn't harmed it much. Her bite is not insignificant, but she does generally rely on other larger dragons to do the heavy work. The venom could potentially kill a weak or small human-sized creature on its own, but more likely would only make them incredibly sleepy or send them into a coma from which they'd eventually recover.
Parentage: Leafwing mother Bubblegum, Rainwing sire Verdant
Origin: Adopted from Mooncrest-Necrozma on Deviantart, WoF by Tui Sutherland
Other Info: Vegas is quite young, in fact perhaps less than the younger of the Hippie and Carnie kids. |
Events or History: Born on the Rookery, apparently, and every bit as excited to be in Vegas as her name seems to suggest. She simply showed up one day, at the Lucky 38: since dragons arrived there, Aretha has made sure to code any defensive systems to accept dragons overhead (but not, say, bombs or planes that aren't the Boomers'...). Though she wasn't recognized by anyone, this young dragoness stared up at the bright lights and started flashing them on her scales, and a star was born. No one in their right mind would think of trying to trick her into doing things she wouldn't care to, because, after all, she's still a goddamn 60 foot long dragon. But she is very popular among the kids and fringers in the area, offering her collected caps to them when they're in need. After all, she has all she wants, in the form of affection and attention, and the occasional game of dragon craps with those giant dice... |
