| Powers | Telepathy - Able to speak mind to mind, with anyone that has a similar power, within about 2 miles easily. He can tap into very intimate thoughts and deep memories with touch, though he lacks the ability to then manipulate those memories Coersion (minor) - With close proximity he can use a combination of Vortal power, telepathic urges, and empathy, along with his casual body language and easy on the ears voice, to get people to do what he wants. This can be done to anyone who listens, it's not limited to human/oids Empathy/Human - with those who qualify as 'human' (Twoarth skins only) he has a very strong level of emotional rapport, and can distinguish one emotion out of a wash of them, spotting people who need help or are the ones others should rely on due to their confidence or natural abilies. He can adjust the emotions of a single person, but only within 5 meters and only if it's a nudge, not a full on control Computer Control - his far more useful power when it comes right down to it, is his ability to access and use any computer system to his liking. He can take a microwave that has a circuit board and make it compute Pi, not just cook Pies. While he does have to be within about 20 meters to do this, virtually any device that has a computer or chip, circuit board, or other such computing capabilities is his to command, learn from, imprint on, or otherwise control. He can do this with Combine computers, Aperture ones, even Lane's personal devices, which is saying a lot, though he has hardly ever had cause to be around those - Lane sometimes discovers that his datapad or briefcase laptop has been mildly altered whenever he's near the kid... Either way, Carnelian can read data, write code, alter memory, overload, or bottleneck a system while it's running, and even while it's not. Notworthy is that he can control individual parts of computer related devices, so cybernetics such as his mother's head jacks, augmented limbs, independent drones linked wirelessly... they're all the same to him |
| Clusters | Cybernetics +3 As a specialty he has decided to keep up with the Combine's fused-on parts, and often enough he'll be able to turn those parts against their own body. Carnelian can help those who have gone 'halfway' through the Combine surgical processes, but any more than that, or any form of their full conversion process, and he cannot. But there are a lot of 'factories' on Rookery Earth that have thousands of humans in storage just waiting for parts to be grafted on, and he helps get those people re-integrated into the normal population by reprogramming any of their fused technology Organize People +2 He can easily see who needs to be in what group, and if anyone's stepping out of line he has a way with commanding them to either toe the line or choose another project. He rarely gets on people's bad side for doing this, he's very nice about it |
| Skills | Charm Anyone Out of Pants +2 He's also very, very charming in most other ways that humans like... I mean, he is Cybil Qeats' son, after all, and that woman has a notorious "Little Black Book" filled with ratings for her coworkers and other conquests... He doesn't use a book... Public Relations +2 Carnelian is a whiz at making sure that people are seen in the right light, and knows how to use local advertising, jingles, public service messages, and the like to their advantage. This does rely on there being those things to use, but even without them, in the Aperture North facility, he's the guy you want on your advertising campaign, and Hoyle definitely used him to bring people back to his Enclave once they'd put it in that facility... Coding +2 With or without a keyboard, Carnelian is a computer genius, and won't hesitate to look over code for a project, or analyze very old programs to see if there are any gems he can polish. And given that some folks are arriving from other Aperture-based worlds, there's a lot of that code that seems quite ... unpolished indeed, so he's got a job ahead of him. He works on the interdimensional portals between Twoarth and Rookery, as well as Rookery to other Aperturths |
| Knacks | Hip as Hell +3 All of this, done with a grace and natural style that just reeks of 'advertising campaign success poster boy'. He loves picking up trends, memes, fashion, music, whatever is in style, he's got it in spades. He doesn't just drop it like a rock once it is boring to others, either, he will be the one to revive a thread with a very clever necro on a forum, or use a very old meme in a new way to keep things moving |
