Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics
Captain Barratt | Captain Redburn | Doctor AlHadim | Sr Officer Hyde |
Jr Officer Jimenez | Jr Officer Takei
Though not an Emergency Medical technician or a trained Station house employee, Doctor Gamal alHadim is their full time medical advisor. While this 55 year old Indian physician does have a dorm on site, he also has a wife and several children that he loves dearly. He is on call 24/7 but serves a standard 10 hour 4 day shift like the rest. His expertise in medical services has proven valuable in a variety of unusual situations from a birth in a stalled elevator, to suicide hotlines. He has more than 30 years of actual medical practice below his belt, and a good reputation among the medical community. His decision to come to the Station and take this role was more because he knew they needed it, than because he wanted to change his practice. As an internal specialist he's seen a lot... As an EMT advisor? He's bound to see way more than he bargained for. alHadim makes fun of himself constantly, his good nature reflects the values and love that he shares at home. His wife Nuana chides him for it, but he just agrees that his accent is ridiculous in America ("oh no yoo diddn't!") and it's best to have people think he's fun, than a terrorist. With two sons and three daughters, his home life is full. His job pays well enough that they'll all be headed off to universities when they're old enough, only two are so far. He is a tall, skinny darkly tanned man, with the typical wiry black hair below a turban, a well-trimmed beard, and deep black eyes. He smiles more often than not, and is a hit with children. He knows there are some in the Station who won't give him the time of day just because of his ethnic origin, but to them he smiles more broadly than ever. It is his duty to help all mankind, whether they like him or not. |

This cutie is named Bajna, hatched from a special egg at Seiryuu. The loud eruption from her egg started this noisy little girl's life, and ever since, she's seemed to get into more and more loud trouble! Gamal is hoping to train her to sing or at least crash into things more musically... |

Dr alHadim is standing at Keandyn |

Gamal waited around and made himself useful at Keandyn. It was a confusing, if fun, place. There were people and dragons, and dragon people, and visitors. Fortunately alHadim's warm personality allowed him to find many friends among the fleeting folk. He knew his stay would only be so long as to bond and fledge, because his family would need him to be with them - and he needed them. He spoke quietly with the other Earth girl, Trudi, though it appeared she'd be leaving before him - Carramba High would be training the kids and their dragons. He halfway thought it might be fun to move there for a year or so, it was just south of the city, so ... Nah. He'd heard that Carramba's nurse was one of those exotic blue women who gave off some kind of pheremone. That wouldn't be very good, since he was ... well, susceptable to such things. His wife, bless her, had a collection of lovely scents and perfumes that -- "HATCHING!" Someone bellowed, and alHadim heard them running down the corridor. He put on his ceremonial robes (comfortable in them when most people weren't - after all his whole heritage was in clothing like this) and went to the sands. As the proud parents looked on, the other candidates and he (far older!) waited for - BAM! The first egg to hatch did so almost explosively, and shattered across the sand. The red that came from it was apparently fuming about something that had happened to her bond. Fortunately the next egg to hatch wasn't quite so violent. Though the brown dragonet wasn't so happy about being ignored by its bond! Gamal thought he heard something. Something in his head, like an afterthought or a half-remembered piece of music. Glancing around, he saw Bajna perched up in the stands, so she wasn't doing it... While a violet female bonded off to Trudi, alHadim had another fleeting thought, something was oppressively bearing down on him. He fidgeted. I asked, 'do you like kids'? Said the voice in his head. Then he realized what that was - it was a dragon. His dragon. Gamal laughed a little and replied yes, he did in fact like kids. Good. hem-cough. The dragonet was buried under a pile of sand, and broke free a-la a bad horror flick. As if from a shallow grave, a clawed hand poked through. Gamal assisted the dragon in getting himself free - that was why he felt so overborne - and soon the doctor realized that he was now bonded to a beautiful bronze! He shook himself free and cleaned a bit more of the sand from his hide. It glimmered metallic, a bright color. "Abalabeth! You're fantastic!" alHadim exclaimed. Abalabeth seemed to agree, as they left for the feeding chamber. |

The bronze and his confident rider strutted around the parade grounds. Today was the day that they'd be headed back home. Gamal had gone back to Talon a couple times, aided by other riders. Since he couldn't bring his whole family, they allowed him to go and come back. Abalabeth waited patiently, but then once he began to actually fly, it was time now to return for good. "The Den is large enough for you, you're not huge - but you're pretty big!" The doctor was amused that a dragon this size and rank would come to him. After all he wasn't the dramatic type to rush in for fires or defuse explosives. But I like what you do. I will help you carry the injured away from the fires and bombs! Abalabeth proclaimed. Happy, alHadim and he swept out of Keandyn with a song in their hearts - and Bajna gleefully squealing their ears off.
