Character Story (on CIS) People underestimate this 'young girl. She has looked like a young teenager for several centuries, and she collects information like it's going out of style. She does not use this info against people, only to aid them later or find relatives. Her sisters and brothers all-but require her focus and mental connection, until the last of them are gone millennia later. From her creation until 10528, she was Held by Mirage Marad, and remains on site at the Telva Mansion running it. Aided in rearing Iktome Chantain (10580-) who then Freed and Raised Taiji and many others in the Takin and Toro line, keeping them hired on and well paid for their expertise and long-standing work. She has contributed genetics to numerous projects on the sly (not just during Darkhanis' reign as the premier Peridian on Zekira, but over hundreds of years later too). She is quite charming during any parties particularly those Mirage would hold. The mansion is eventually inherited by herself and the Toro line around 11130, and she is the only one Holding it when Mirage returns to the mainland as an Outsider adrift and terrified. She helps the Outsiders with stability and sanity to adjust to the world at large, and together they move ahead into the distant stars some 80 thousand years later. Since she is naturally immortal, some of them are a little difficult to deal with, but as always, she is a calm respite in a huge storm - welcome smile and demure touch, Taiji embodies what it means to be a helper. Both on a personal level and a world-wide one, given her abilties allow her to know where to be, who to be near, and what they will need when she gets there. |

This is a pretty Cypris egg! Mikaal found that the Cypris mother had more eggs! Taiji was so happy that this new egg was still available. Taiji has been waiting for such an opportunity, now not only does Torbo have a playmate, but she might have a nice strong defender who loves to roam the ship with her. And here is Divali! She is still quite young, but is very playful. Her colors are just perfect around here! She is usually underfoot, and Torbo has had her claws full, just keeping Divali out of mischief. Soon, she'll join Anup in the main halls, but for now, Taiji wishes to keep her Emerald Cypris to herself. With very little prodding, Divali eats a hearty meal regularly and chases Torbo around. Her muscles are toning, and she's grown a bit larger than the little gryphon! Perhaps the gryphon will remain that tiny size? Perhaps Divali is just going to be one big beautiful emerald Cypris! Divali has grown a lot over the last few months! Soon enough she will be asking to join with the elders, and probably cause some trouble... She's very flirtatious, but also very shy, just like her Zekiran friend Taiji! Never have two creatures, one with thumbs and one with fur, been so like one another! Divali as an Adult! She is remarkably calm and collected in this picture, however that's not often the way she's seen around the Ship! She is usually where you need her most, underfoot! Just like Taiji, only she doesn't serve drinks when you greet her. |

** Ref's Glimmer story started on zekiran_immortal/glennzone.html and went to other pages "Are you sure that we can accomodate more Dragons from the Glenn?" Viridia asked, and one of the engineers nodded with enthusiasm. "Of course we can. Since we've been in orbit around their world, we have made some changes to the main pods. The whole area where they can fly has been made quite a lot larger. If you saw it from the outside, you might not recognize the ship any more." Viridia chuckled. "Well, show me sometime soon, I would not want to forget where we parked!" She took a transport back to the Glenn. There, the young dragons in love flounced about and made her smile broadly. It was good that Wisdom had found his mate, they'd stay here until perhaps they had a clutch of eggs, and then ... then they would be off again? Well, they'd have to see. This world was very nice, indeed. She looked up into the sky and saw a glint of their ship. She could never make it out from that distance, but the huge dome above the main body of the ship covered nearly all of it, now, like a curved lid above a fine meal dish. That amount of space nearly doubled their room inside the regular part of the ship again. The immortal woman found a sign at the Glenn agency which indicated there would be dragons with eggs coming soon. She nodded to herself. "Good. Then, perhaps we can 'marry off' that annoying Neres Storm..." She muttered to herself. ** "I want to host one," came a small voice. Viridia looked around and then down. It was Taiji. "Well, Taiji, I know you like the dragons, but don't you have other animals?" "I do, but they're all grown up, and I know I can take care of this one. I have a lot of practice. You know I can raise a big friend like a dragon." The tiny green-skinned girl-like woman smiled up at Viridia. There was very little this other immortal could do to stop her from finding an egg, was there? She was so sweet, and for thousands -- maybe hundreds of thousands -- of years they had developed a friendship. "It will have to stay here," Viridia said holding her slate colored hands out, "in the flight zone." "I know, but I'm right near the side entrance, and my other friends can help me keep it warm until it hatches..." "I've heard they like shiny things," Viridia said, of the Glenn dragons. "Only some of them! Some like fresh air, some do best in darkness, it's all up to the egg and who's inside it! I would give them everything they needed, and more, you know." "I know, dear one, I know!" ** ** Welcome to Taiji's Glenn Dragon area! (above: sorry I'm not going to recreate the disaster area of Geocities layered images lol) Taiji wants to introduce you to the egg which has been sent up to the ship, it is here... Right now, she knows nothing about the sex, type or color of the dragon within, and is even somewhat unsure of which parents have sired it! There were two clutches there at the time, and only this egg called out to the green little girl. It turns out to be from Sparks and Marad's clutch, now that it's all settled in! She hopes very much that with love and tender attention, she will be able to hatch and care for the dragon within. With all the beautiful plants that Taiji takes care of around the egg, there are also a lot of little happy bugs flying about. They don't bother Taiji, she loves to watch their irridescent wings shimmering in the starlight. As the egg in Taiji's Glenn area began to harden and solidify, the outside of it turned a steady, beautiful gold! Taiji invited several of the inhabitants to view her newfound beauty, and even Wisdom the dragon came to admire it. "It is beautiful," Viridia commented. "Do you think... It will be a special dragon which comes from it? You deserve it, Taiji. All the work you've put into this chamber is beyond what I'd ever imagined!" Viridia looked around at all the greenery and beautiful insects gathered from hundreds of worlds. "I think that I shall like to see who hatches from this egg!" "And I," Taiji smiled, her girl-like face bright with happiness. ** "Did it ever strike you as ironic that one of the parents of his clutch was named Marad?" Taiji asked Viridia as she helped clean off the little golden dragonet. Viridia nodded deeply. "I thought I recognized the name... Marad... He was a clever boy." "He was Mirage's father!" Taiji scrubbed at an itch that the dragon indicated with a warble of noise. "Clever?" Viridia laughed. "So what is this little boy's name, if Marad and Sparks are his parents?" Viridia asked, and handed Taiji a small bowl of food for the hatchling. The green girl sat on her rump and looked at him. The golden scales were so pretty, he glimmered every moment that he moved, and even when he slept -- which was of course quite a lot of the time -- he seemed to flow with color. "Well, look at him. He's like molten gold..." Taiji looked confused. "But that sounds too much like a beer beverage..." Viridia and she laughed, and the little golden hatchling grumbled loudly, it seemed they were keeping him from sleep. "Sorry, dearest..." Taiji said, stroking his beautiful snout. "Well, you remember on Zekira, in the deserts of Kiran, where the Three Cities came together?" "The Ref desert, yes. With dunes that glimmered brightly in the sun." Taiji looked up with pleasure, "Ref's Glimmer," she announced, "That's his name. Some day we'll find a way to show him why he's named that..." ** Ref's Glimmer explored every nook of his territory. When Shuy's blue dragon came along, however, he bolted for Taiji and Viridia's side. "Little chicken," Taiji chided him. "You go show him who's boss!" She nudged the little golden hided dragonet and he crooned with worry. "I do not want to! He makes too much noise!" "I know you like it quiet, but you need to get some exersize! Go out and play!" "But it is wet!" Taiji rolled her eyes and shrugged. "I know it's wet, Ref. It's raining. It's just rain, see?" "Gets noisy rain," Ref's Glimmer looked up at the cloudy dome's sky. Then, he very nearly vanished into himself, as the peal of lightning came down and shortly echoed around with a rock of thunder. "Not coming out EVER!" Viridia grinned and left this little problem to her small green assistant. Taiji could always coax the golden dragonet into something new... later. ** Ref did enjoy the rain, but not nearly as much as the other from other clutch, Raindance. The golden dragon patiently watched the big light blue swoop through the air in the dome, almost like he was dodging the raindrops. Or maybe making them. Ref's Glimmer stretched back, and let out a long, warm sigh. "He is just showing off," Glimmer said. "I will show him later... When I get my wings ready. Then he'll have some competition in the air." "I remember when you didn't like the thought of going out there," Taiji laughed. "That was before I was big!" "You aren't all big, yet!" ** When Ref's Glimmer WAS big, not long after their little trip to the Glenn, he began looking at the beautiful clouds above the Glenn. "He's up there. I will scare him down now." Ref said, and bolted into the air. He was a strong, quick flier, but he had gotten a bit more impulsive than Taiji liked. Perhaps it would calm down if they ever found a mate for him. If... Perhaps they wouldn't. The Glenn was shutting down shop, and the dragons as well as their caretakers would be sad to see it go. But they would all be able to come and visit each other anyway. When Taiji looked up again, she saw a huge bolt of gold streak through the low clouds and then burst out in a bright sun-colored flame. Then abruptly, a downpour of rain struck his golden hide and he came scampering down through the sky, again. "Still don't like getting wet, I see?" Taiji said, in her best I-told-you-so voice. Ref's Glimmer only grumbled. ** Ref's Glimmer participated in the Cross Gender Frenzy at the Healing Den! (see below) |

After a tremendous amount of time, including at least several centuries seeking locations for dragons to take on, Taiji and the others finally settled on Planet Twenty. Taiji is thrilled that she can set down now, but then... there are ways to reach the other realms. Other dimensions? She is able to understand just enough about all of this that she winds up on Zekira once more. Only this time it isn't the same as she remembered it - there is an alien invasion going on? And dragons are needed? She participates in some unusual breeding arrangements, allowing herself to be spliced with several long-tailed and naga-types, but also... dragons! And though she does aid in parenting and instruction duties with Frusiu because she thinks he could use the help, she's rather thankful that none of these babies came out of her... (( From Cross Gender Frenzy flight, edited with just ref's refs )) The dragons were hugely varied. Some were tiny, many were from the Healing Den's prior flights, which made Baeris smile. A large number of Ryslen dragons, naturally, they were always welcome. Many from the Hatchery- or something similar to it, and a selection of Talor Cliff and Dawn Sisters flew in. Even some representitives from places which had long since vanished, Aden and Aneris, Sparkul, Wu and Gallimim dragons were present. Some new ones, from Firestone and Tarizal, Talis and a grand entrance from a green from Cincanta's new stock. Then of course, Tresis and Taiji brought their Glenn dragons. It was odd, to Baeris, to see these scaley dragons come to a flight like this, but apparently Tresis' black Neres Storm convinced Taiji's beautiful golden Ref's Glimmer to come. And... That gold was a male. How... Different. ** Very few of the dragons in this flight, but a noticable number, had flight experience. And most of that was at Frenzies. It took more than half an hour before the females even looked like they were getting interested in the males below. Only Gold male Ref's Glimmer had not joined this big flock of starstruck males. He remained on the ground, while his bond partner Taiji wandered around the grounds in a daze. She was a slave on Zekira, so long ago, and her instinct was to begin serving drinks to people... He nixed that when he took to the air at last. ** One of the last dragons up, or up again actually, was L'sen's green-gold Kazulieth. And, one of the few males who hadn't actually mated yet, was Taiji's Glenn dragon – the male gold Ref's Glimmer. Between the two of them, they were more gold than anything else, and everyone might wonder what sort of offspring this odd pairing might give. Taiji was elated, and her diminutive partner Tev thought that it was something he'd done, so he did it again. ** From XGen Hatching (first part, oddly enough Ref's offspring are first, middle, and last to hatch) All of a sudden, a number of eggs all around the den began to break. No one knew which way to look so they merely watched for dragons to head out of the shells. (second half of hatching) Two of them wobbled around until they broke, the left side Kazulieth's large dark egg, and right up in the very front of the sands the last of Treyeth's smallish eggs shattered. Kazulieth's egg showed a shimmer of copper color, not quite bronze and not quite metallic brown, with a strong ridge on his neck and scaled belly. His long wings proved that he was a son of Ref's Glimmer. (end of 2nd half) The last egg left on the sands was one of Kazulieth's largest – if not the largest egg on the sands. It had a shimmering opal-gold to it, and everone assumed that there would be a queen coming from it. She'd already proven to have two gold-types, but now this egg was shaking open to display her fantastic genetics again. The scaly underneck of the dragon which came out was a pale color of tan-blond, and the head was golden framed with a kind of yellowy-green fin on both sides. When the wings finally came out, with effort, they were a pale shine of glimmering yellow-gold. The tail drifted into a darker shade of gold... And he bellowed aloud, “where is my partner?!” Every person – and most every dragon – in the place froze in stunned silence. A gold male? Well, it would stand to reason since the sire of that egg was a Glenn gold, and male... But no one expected him to breed true! The dragon was large, long, with a thick strong neck and large wings, and he stood up to leave. But where? He headed out, and the dragon healers followed quickly. Along with the rest of the crowd. The gold chose a path through the upper ledge, meaning he had to traverse the entire length of the sands before even reaching an exterior ledge. In the stands, a clingy, sinister creature tugged on a “local's” elbow urgently. “He is heading toward the beautiful statuary garden I told you about...” Shy tittered. He lept to his feet and didn't bother straightening out his lovely outfit, before pulling Kalkin to his side and dragging the healer outside. Kalkin had managed to keep Shy from grabbing candidates and taking genetic samples from everyone. There would be time for that later, and Kalkin reminded the odd man that this was their moment – not his. Kept in check by a grudging agreement, Shy knew that this was his time, right now. While most of the time the Healing Den rested within the Nexus, at this time, its destination had been chosen and it came to rest at a locale where a sort of garden existed. Riders from the Pelar Protectorate as well as the odd two-headed hydra bonded to Luci and/or Ela arrived to see the crowd of people at the entrance to their locale. “Well look who's here?” One of the guardians of Sha-ne said, but they backed off when the big golden male hatchling came from the dark ledge inside the Den. He sniffed around at the air, and decided on a path. “She shouldn't be out here!” Someone called, but someone from the stands hushed them up with the statement that “that's a he – he is looking for his bond!” A pale figure appeared, from beyond a heavy trunked tree. Light shone off Sha-ne's scaled skin, and she slunk around the tree to stand before the dragon as he strode in. You are for me, I will not allow you to cry, my love. You may love me, I will never love another. Sha-ne smiled, a soft grin turning into a broad pleased look. “Dorado.” She said, simply. The helpers from the kitchen had the forethought to bring some chopped meat out with them, since the gold was headed effectively away from them instead of toward. Sha-ne took the big bowl of meat without even glancing at the attendant – which made him relieved – and fed her new bond. Kalkin, or Vanya as Shy liked to call him much to his distress, glared at Shy. “So, I won't bother to get near her now. Our deal is null. Even you can't get near her now. She's out of both our hands.” Shy was obviously angry with that response, but Kalkin had returned to Baeris' side and helped gather the others back into the Den. “We'll have to leave her out here, since she claims it as her territory,” Baeris said, looking right at Shy who had told her that very fact not long before. “I don't know where this place is, but it's not the Den. You were mistaken, Shy. The Den travels freely among the stars and through time. She'll be safe here, and we will be able to visit her if she needs us, but I don't think she will be needing anyone now.” With that, Baeris took the sulky Kalkin and the rest of the amazed crew and onlookers back into the corridor, into the Healing Den's massive sands again. |
