Jewel is the pride and joy of the rukel colony in Carramba. She is smart, witty, very pretty, and above all, she seems quite humble and happy. She enjoys flights around football games, adding to the cheerleader's dances and getting the crowd excited. Jewel is in essence a typical overachiever.

Will she blow out on all this attention and activity? Unlikely. And even if she does, she's a phoenix. She'll bounce back after a fall. She doesn't mind being the front-girl of the group, but always tries to get the others to share in the fun and attention. Perhaps at the expense of understanding that some of them really don't want to be in the limelight after all.

She is of course the one who found out about Carramba and led them all there. One might call her nosy, in that regard. But she's so pretty few people actually care that she's listening in on their private conversations.

Jewel was happy to see that Rfoad had found himself a friend - she watched and gave herself a private wink and nudge as though it had been her idea to send Deziree down there...

But when Jewel turned around there was another, more colorful and impish, dragon watching her. "You startled me!" She exclaimed, and the grin on this dragon got even wider.

Well, you never know if something's creeping up on you, the rainbow-bodied dragon bespoke. His mental voice was strong, if not deep. He wasn't large, at least, he looked like he wasn't as big as Deziree. But that still placed him as big as ten Rukels tall, and Jewel wasn't used to being really stared at like he was.

"Do you want something?" She asked politely, her tail flickering brightly. It did that when she was nervous.

"I'd like to hang out," he said and that was it. Pretty much after that point, he'd follow Jewel wherever she went.

Into rooms, where he had to shapeshift down into a much smaller version of himself. Onto the football field, where he was shooed away by the coach several times. And finally, with a huge group of students and staff, a big beach party. It wasn't far from the school to the beach, but this time Jewel actually asked that Zoon allow her to ride on his shoulders.

"It's a long way for someone my size," she said, hoping maybe that he would tire out by the time they got there.

No such luck, in fact she wasn't sure but it felt like perhaps only three big beats of his wings and a lot of gliding got them from campus to the shoreline. She dropped from his shoulders and he immediately sped into the sea. There were lots of others out there, the water was pretty warm for this time of year, it'd been basking under the summer sun all day too and couldn't help but be warmed. He dragged up a gigantic pile of seaweed, and put it down onto the wet packed sand, where people began using it to create a sand-fortress. One or more other dragons, and other rukels now that they could be seen, were out there helping too. Jewel was wondering why on earth this creature had attached itself to her - but she made sure to tell people to have her informed, if he was doing anything wrong or annoying.

She'd talk to him, but it hardly had any effect. He would sulk a few minutes, and then another shiny thing would attract his attention. But at the beach he was at least focused on things there. Soon enough and long before the sun set, there was a whole sand-city out there, and apparently someone with water magic or controlls had kept the tide from coming in too far and ruining their scenery.

It was when some guy from the football team monstered out and started chasing the quarterback through it, everyone was laughing so hard - he was like godzilla going through tokyo! As the sun set, Jewel laughed as the dragons all took turns stomping out the sand castles, protecting their own hoarded seaweed and shells, and generally, it was a good day to have a dragon to look over.
