BMDR - Prudence


Name: Prudence Gender: Female, Straight Age/DOB: 5 @ arrival, currently 16 Origin: Aperturth, born in Mansion Family: Mother Lena, father Pierre, half brother Lars, half sister Bonnie Other: Prudence does seem a little more private and almost stuck-up compared to her siblings and family, but she's just... picky, is all. Height: 5'9" Weight: around 150, quite muscular particularly in her legs, but good torso strength as well, and her hands are well known for being strong enough to bend bars - that's with her fingers, not some leverage... Hair: golden auburn, quite red in light, a lot darker than both her parents'; wavy and quite thick, often as long as her lower back or hips, and usually tied in pretty braids or ties, including very complex braids during performances Eyes: very dark brown, concerned, large, and intense Appearance: fair skinned and tends toward freckling in sunlight, she tends to stand upright and proper at all times, and has an obvious and incredible grace and balance with her teeny feets. Yes, she has teeny feets. Her gloves help her grip a bit, but often as not she'll just be bare handed on a pole or wire Genetic Abilities: Though no Vortal abilities are apparent, her physical condition, strength, and raw skill in balancing and acrobatics are quite impressive. She can walk on a wire as thin as yarn without wobbling, and as long as there's a surface strong enough to hold her weight, she can balance on it or walk over it. She has hands that are perhaps 3 times stronger than a normal person's, and this is echoed in her toes and feet, if she could grow thumbs on her feet she'd be able to grip with them... She seems to always know her direction, even after spinning or tumbling, and has no dizziness at all. She isn't much more durable than normal, healing at a fairly normal rate, but she has yet to be injured from slipping or falls, blunt instruments seem to almost bounce off her skin. Icarus Processing: No, and Lena's DNA has strong tags against it, she didn't need it anyway. Skills or Profession: As with many of the Carnies, she grew up with activities like tumbling and hide and seek, acrobatics, and performances. Her specialty as she grew up however has always been a high-wire and balancing act. She can leap from bar to bar, or even stand on tall poles on one foot, while balancing dishes on spinning racks... She can also do an incredibly good pole-dance, exhibiting her torso and hip strength, but also her hands, as she's been known to hold herself horizontal from a pole at full reach. You don't want to arm wrestle with her, she's got incredible strength in her wrists too. In the Rookery however, she is relied upon to do spy work at times, and feels the thrill when she skips over a Combine power line and spies on them from above.
Personality: More than a little aloof, she's not unlikable, but Prudence sort of lives up to her name - she does judge people a little often, though silently, and doesn't hang out with a lot of boisterous people. She likes it quiet, and does not want to be the focal point of anything unless she's performing. She doesn't really even want people watching her work out or practice. With Indigo nearby, she knows no one's going to spy on her.
Events or History: Born toward the 'later' kids, several years after their arrival to the Aperturth Mansion. She's on the youngest side of the Rookery though, and enjoys this in as much as she seems to enjoy anything. Indigo came to her quite soon after they settled in the Rookery, and has been by her side ever since. When they're gearing up for a performance, Prudence will sequester herself in the catacombs below the Mansion, and Indigo can slip around in the eerie blue-glowing water there. They reside more permanently in the Carnie Caravan Hub, but at times, Prudence is taken up by other dragons (speedier and less visible ones) to Combine sites for infiltration purposes.
Dragon Name: Indigo Wave Gender: Female Size/Shoulder/Length: Medium-Large (bulky, low) 11' s / 60' l / 115' ws Colors: belly from chin to tail tip and behind limbs indigo violet-blue; face, neck, body, limbs and tail medium purple; leg and wing armor, horns, claws, and spikes midnight indigo blue; face and dorsal armor from neck to tail lighter purple; wingsails and webbing dusty mauve-grey; all inset and markings normally pale reflective pink-white but can flash to other colors (usually very pale); eyes cyan Features: Seawing Powers: Winged Flight and Underwater Propulsion, though she has very strong wings for both above and below the waves, Indigo is much better suited to swimming than flying. She can get up to a decent speed, and maintain it for half an hour before tiring, but in the water she can swim hundreds of miles at a time and come back not even a bit tired. Equally so, she's less agile above the water, though on land she can do surprising amounts of rolling and tricks, and in the water... she can out maneuver a seal or otter. She just kind of folds around herself like crazy! Her tail provides a massive amount of speed, and she swims with a snake movement, extending her wings to execute sharper turns or bursts of speed. Communication, like most of her breed she is adept with the flashing sign language of Aquatic, but can speak Draconic, English, and understands Vortigese and French as well but doesn't try to speak them. She and Prudence have a tight and private Vortal bond, it's apparent to anyone who can see auras but not interruptable by anyone's mind. Undersea Adaptation, she's a pure Seawing, so those large plates on her neck are gills, and additionally she can breathe air. Though here on the Rookery she's hardly ever in deep water, she's easily able to see in near-complete darkness thanks to her own softly glowing scales, and can maneuver in even the deepest and heavy pressure depths. Water Control, a combination of her powerful body and wings, and a Vortal nudge, Indigo can create a Wave of epic proportions. This works mostly under water, but she has been known to throw rain in a tremendous pressure wave as well. She can pulp fish or enemies under water with it, accurate in a cone about 20 meters across at 100 meters distant, that's it's focal point so anything in front or behind it will be jostled quite a bit but not likely killed.
