Black Mesa is a facility resting in the American South-West, along the eastern edge of New Mexico in proximity to what used to be Oklahoma and Texas. However it's also in proximity to several other, less savory spots: the Cities that were created by Humanity back shortly after the Resonance Cascade, which were then subsequently used as central hubs to the Combine as they plopped their Citadels into them. Because those Cities are still quite inhabited, and bustle with both Human and ... less Human activity, the Rookery must take care not to be noticed.

Notably among them, City 82 is situated in Albuquerque, New Mexico, within 100 miles of the facility. Lubbock (City 77), and Colorado Springs (City 83) slightly farther away. Below, find a map showing relevant City locations and numbers, as well as coded Rookery and Repurposed-specific sites. (Click to enlarge)

Note that several locations are entirely specific to their dimension: Maury Island / Hoyle's Enclave, and the Aperture Armacham Enrichment Center in Alabama are both only available on the Repurposed Earth dimension, and the Aperture Enrichment Center location in Michigan is exclusive to Rookery's Earth. Sites such as Lane's Mansion and Black Mesa's facility are found on both, as well as all the Cities (though some City numbering may differ from world to world, it's known that London is City 8 in one dimension but it is 10 for these two).

Some sites are unique and do not technically exist on the Rookery or Repurposed Earths, as such. However, as time has gone by, many of them have bled over via many different means - magic, Vortessence, and technological - and are now feeding the Rookery with riders, dragons, supplies, and a variety of other things. The biggest of these is the Mojave Conglomerate, detailed below, but also a number of individual cities on the East coast seem to be from 'that' dimension as well, indicating a weakness or folding of the worlds that has rippled at least as strongly as the Resonance Cascade. It is possible at times to be standing in two or even four different dimensions at once, near some of those spots.

Shown above are the further world locations relevant to the Rookery and Repurposed Earth. In the center of the Atlantic is the Rapture facility, which while 'fixed' in the Rookery Earth, remains largely unpopulated until after RY 3 (Rhea and several other scientists currently reside there, but not many more before then). The dot in Norway is exclusive to Repurposed Earth, and is the location of Wilson Carver's home in Spangereid, a version of which is recreated in his Vortal space. It is likely that this home will be further 'duplicated' in Rookery's space, as Lane's Mansion is, when there's greater need in that area of the world. The northernmost dot is the location of the Borealis Research Vessel, propelled from its underground dry dock in the Rookery's Enrichment Center via portal technology, to be wedged into a wall of ice in the Arctic. This location also provides key research, including portal-based weaponry which will be of use against the Combine. The location is currently 'safe' from Combine incursion, particularly while there are dragons residing there. Of course the presence of dragons mean that Combine attention is being drawn to it.
