Name: Velasco [Crow; also veh laa sko 'the air's connection and lift'] Carver

Gender: Male, strongly bisexual

Age/DOB: ~17, aged in Healing Den, RY1

Origin: Healing Den Labs of mixed origin parents

Family: Father 1 Wilson Carver, father 2 Crazy Doc Sanger (Carramba's); has like... all the relatives in the multiverse at this point including half-brother Grey Sanger.

Other: Sangers are hardly unfamiliar with splicing. Wilson's first kids have 5 other parents. While Kalkin of the Healing Den could perfectly well have used his own DNA for this, it was the Doc that got chosen because his Vortal or Psionic abilities are better suited to dragoning; Kalkin and Lane agreed informally that a trade 'in kind' would be appropriate, but also that neither of them were the right choice for such a thing. Whether Wilson actually volunteered is unknown, but he's never been known to balk at the thought of making babies without killing the host in the process.

Height: 6'4" if he wants to be actually menacing, normally 6'3" and can stand eye to eye with both of his fathers

Weight: ~170 *Icarus has lightened this by a lot, both Melissa and Baeris estimate that his normal muscularity and bone structure would have been about 250, and any given Sanger would love to know how their frame would change if they had this done... And then they remember that they did, and it caused a lot of other changes in them. Excellent torso and upper body strength but he certainly doesn't skip leg day

Hair: Jet black, heavy, thick, and straight, with a prominent widows peak; he's much better able to grow facial hair than Sangers usually are, so he sports that beard probably just to rub it in. Hair is kept loose and long, and grows very quickly

Eyes: dark aquamarine, more blue toward the pupil, and greener around the rim of the iris, not as heavily darkened around them as most of the Vahh men's, under fine and expressive pointed eyebrows, over chisled high cheekbones, his face is less gaunt than that side of the family

Appearance: olive tan skin with a few moles and freckles, no scars; has a moderate to heavy amount of limb and body hair quite unlike Sangers have, but it's all absolutely straight like his hair. Has strong and oddly colored natural nails. Prefers darker clothing, snugly fitting shirts and leather outfits, and will wear anything Wilson makes for him with style. Even with his sensory abilities, he tends to keep something on rather than walking around half-naked like any Sanger would. Has a very deep and extremely menacing voice when he wants to scare people, and a very, very large vocabulary... including in about 10 languages with ease.

Icarus Processing: Yes, though he was spliced and created in a lab in the Healing Den itself, when he was a toddler it was clear he would benefit from this work. This lightened his overall weight, and added a tremendous amount of speed and dexterity - both of his fathers are already well off the charts, but this sort of sealed the deal. He is physically stronger than 6 men, durable enough to shrug off tremendous damage, and fast enough to be a blur visually. But also his physical senses are extremely well tuned: his eyesight and sense of touch are so discerning that he had to have skill downloads from Sangers around the multiverse in order to understand exactly what to do with it. His fingers are nimble enough that he can assemble very tiny items in moments, read printed text with his hands, and the like. He can stand in unusual positions and in fact reach some highly improbable places on himself, and remain in those weird postures for hours, this helps a lot with stealth and infiltration. Internally he is able to go without food or water for much greater periods than normal humans, and basically never shits, because like some Sangers, they simply process everything they eat. He can sense his internal organs (another reason his downloads had to include Sangers - this is certainly their doing) and to a small degree alter anything that comes out of him, usually meaning he smells like jasmine and vanilla. The processing improved his Vortal side as well, perhaps not as strongly as the physical. However like his Sanger side... his brain is still part of his body, right? It has extra folds - lots of them - which would go a ways to explain his incredibly high IQ.
Genetic Abilities: Given that this boy was made to be a dragon rider, it's no surprise that he has a strong Empathic and Telepathic suite of Vortal powers. While he is able to communicate easily with any of his genetic line at any distance provided they're on the same dimension - Vahh and Sanger alike - his mind is actually much more tuned toward dragons and their ilk. He can sense dragons with discernable minds and any with Vortal or Magic power dimension-wide, though with detail only available about 50 miles out, and with full communication ability at 10 miles. This is still exponentially stronger than many, top tier Paragon students don't usually reach that. While he cannot command dragons, they do tend to like him, and if he asks them to do something in general they will. He will not be able to wrest control over a dragon if they're actively being commanded by another - like Paxton - but in the meantime they like hanging with him just because. Lower-end dragon minds, such as flitters and other pet-types, respond as though he is their pack or flock leader, outright. He has to tell other people's flitters to go back to their own person, quite frequently. Good thing he likes flits. Some of the Vortal response to his physical changes are important ones: he has a brain that can out-process most computers, so he is often the first to understand anything, and uses his skill with language almost as well as Lane himself - well, better, if you count that he doesn't hesitate and draw in breaths in weird spaces during speech. This is a Vortal ability, but Sangers have it too, so there's that. Vortally he is able to sense dimensions and to an extent has 'genre sight', so he can track a creature or person from another dimension. He has always been able to move to the correct dimension if presented with options - though he cannot open portals himself, he knows how to build them, and has access to plenty of that via his dragon anyway! He is as much a Search Rider as his dragon does the duty, and can pick out individuals who may make good rider material out of a crowd easily, though at close range, so he's apt to walk through a thick crowd to get a closer look, rather than stand on a stage and look out at an audience to do it. It also seems that because of the mixture of his parents genes as well as downloads, he has a very strong ability to understand code, it's entirely possible that he can 'hear' data being written on some computers, but he doesn't directly deal with most electronics so this ability is not one he's practiced much if at all.
Skills or Profession: Given plentiful skill downloads during the Icarus processing, but he also has practical training and experience from growing up in the Den. He has a standard array of rider-based skills, such as appraisal of injuries and emergency treatments of them on dragons and humans alike; his riding skills are superb, and he can easily assess whether a dragon is suitable for a specific duty or should be reassigned. He has been given a set of psychological tools, as a Search rider he must maintain an objective attitude, but also understand how best to deal with problematic resistance. (He isn't going to just punch a Holder in the throat and take their kid to a hatching. He will tell them off first, punch later.) Since he is not only a natural but Vortally-enabled linguist he has never had issue going to extremely disparate locales and finding people, explaining their situation, and making sure that they are situated correctly. Unlike some of the Vahh side, he does keep track of exactly what language he is speaking to whom, and picks out accents and inflection from all of them with ease. His record-keeping is incredibly good, as is his ability to follow instruction no matter how vague. And unlike his Sanger side... he can figure out where the hell he actually is, on dragon back, Dad. He reads very quickly, and could teach a class based on an afternoon of intense study, but this is not where his interests lay.
Personality: He is quite charming and rather vain, with good reason all around. Fashionable and sexy, he does like being seen - but perhaps not touched as much as all that. He does enjoy having a massage, sensual or otherwise, but it does need to be explained before hand, that he will feel every single little nudge and bump. He's not afraid to tell people about himself, and as a Vahh he's a shit secret-keeper. He prefers openly saying things, and that does sometimes mean he has to fall back on 'diplomacy' and 'psychology'... sigh. He tries not to make mistakes in that regard, and doesn't care much for having to apologize - but when he is wrong, he admits it and gets over it, changes his behaviors as needed, and hopes that will be enough.

Events or History: as above - created as the bridge between the Healing Den and the Rookery, upon its start. Where some cultures use marriage to bind tribes, the Kshau Protectorate has always relied more on ... well, breeding with the natives, for that. Plus it was absolutely no surprise to anyone that Mel and Baeris have very similar ideas about how to make the perfect man. Grew up under personal normal-time in the Healing Den so he had time to have a proper childhood as well as those inserted skill downloads to add to his education. Of note, that means he also grew up around a whole lot of other unusual 'kids'. From xeno-halfbreeds and refugees, to cheetah-shifters and cloned soldiers alike. Because the Healing Den is in its own entire timless dimension, he came out of the place as a mid-teenager, having been integrated into the Rookery for a while here and there to make sure that it would be the right place for him rather than the Den itself. So while he is effectively 17 or so, and grew up in a more or less normal manner, only 2 years had gone by in the Rookery itself since his creation.

When the dragons from other worlds began filtering into the mix at the Rookery, Mel and Baeris took another look at what their splicing could achieve. And late in RY3, a magnificent creature emerged to impress Velasco - and some number of others. They would use this process again later on, in the Hallowed Silk program, for another unusual Vahh kid. Velasco is a Search Rider, and as such he has led the way for a number of groups to be found and retrieved. Because his one dad lives and works at Carramba High, he did spend a year there as a student rider, and often taps Twoarth for his searches.

Dragon

Name: Gebavix Darelth [geh-bahh'vix darr-ell = many pointed bright shiny dots]
Gender: Male
Size/Shoulder/Length: Medium (big wings) 8' s / 40' l / 80' ws
*Colors: mainly strong midnight blue-black with brighter blue body and limbs, blacker feet and wingsails near joints; marked in lines, dots, and jaggy bits in brilliantly glowing sky blue, wingsails edge in a muted form, and neck frill also; claws, spikes, horns glow in that color as well; eyes glassy sky blue
Features: Spliced Mutt, quadrupedal with two large leather wings having 3 internal fingers and a very prominent wrist thumb, all with very long curved claws; limbs are paw-like with thumbs on forefeet, heel-claw on hind with 3 and 4 digits having thick sharp claws; body is hide with scaled armor - a combination of features which is highly unusual, though he looks 'scaled' overall it's actually modified fur; head is conical with strong eye ridges, 2 backward pointing slender horns, high jagged crest on head and upper neck, and neck frill fins behind jaw; body does not have spikes on it until rump; tail is long and muscular, bearing large hooked spines until the end which is covered in straight spikes, also all glow; wings are attached along entire upper tail, and thus are massive scoop-shape; this dragon is an egg-layer, but could easily sire with a live-bearing mate; also due to the parentage below he requires a bond and any of his offspring will definitely also require one; will inherit a combination of naming conventions: Vortal with a TH ending (unless the mate has her own, which will mix as well).
Powers: Winged Flight, Swimming, these wings are made for flying, and any Zekiran would tell you that it's a strong flight to boot. Gebavix can lift a stupidly high amount of weight, for his size. He can normally carry 3 or 4 human-sized people on his neck and back, but because his wings are situated in that way, any more of them need to be in a harness or carried in a safe manner under him while flying. He can fly in very difficult conditions, but his wings do beat pretty hard, and thus the ride will be somewhat lurching the whole way even in calm air. Also he likes to fly at night - for the obvious reason. Surprisingly though, and perhaps this is because of some spare experimental work on Baeris' part, he can fly really fast in bursts. Not just flapping his wings, he seems to speed along with each of those wing beats. This exhausts him quickly however, so while he can do it once in a while he is not going to rely on that unless needed to get away from something quickly. Now, also he is two-fifths (or two and a half, really) water-adapted in his parentage, and that does give him a strong advantage when in water or liquid. He can use his body motion and tail, along with his paws, to swim, and those big wings easily become like a manta ray's fins. He is incredibly graceful in water, though generally requires deep waters to be very obvious about that. He can actually attain much faster speeds outright under water using his wings in a slightly different manner, scooping and pushing to propel. It is a good thing Carramba is right on the coast, he really loves playing in the water. He can also swim in very cold water, though since he's not truly aquatic, he can only hold his breath about 15 minutes, shorter with lots of effort.
Dimensional Travel, Teleportation, Timing-It, with Sixth and Umpteenth as a pair of his parents, one might imagine he would get super lost. Well he does, but that's stopped because his rider knows where to go, and he will follow instructions. Geba is able to move between dimensions in a variety of manners - he can go between traditionally, through the chill there and all the ghosts, and uses this only locally on-world. He will usually do this for short distances that he doesn't feel like flying through - such as 'from Paragon City to Carramba High', 'short'. He can easily teleport to any location he has visited, in this manner, as long as they're on the same world (or... very very similar worlds). But additionally he can dimension travel through the Nexus - to any world where his rider can imagine. He is in a true sense a Genrehopper, though his fine tuning leaves a lot to be desired. So again he will rely on Velasco to bring him where they are needed most. He roosts in the Rookery one night, the Healing Den another, and perhaps even somewhere on Xen or even the Void at times. And lastly he can move through time, with difficulty. While his other dimensional and teleportation powers are so second-nature to walking, that he hardly even gets out of breath with the longest movement between worlds, time travel is still quite dangerous and difficult for him unless it's also combined with said dimension travel. This is because he 'travels twice' - the Healing Den is tuned to have a special 'sign' at its landing area, and he can focus on that to allow him to reach back and forward from his own time line and beyond. The long-term effects of this travel on him are unknown, he might be immortal and aging accordingly each time, but then what happens when he goes backward? He can only do this once in a month or so of his local time-frame. So he will move, say, 10 years into the future to find a search spot, and rest for quite some time before Velasco will be able to take that search back to the Rookery. They do not do this lightly, for that reason, because a distinctive dragon like himself anywhere that is not expecting one may attract too much undue attention. He will always return to the Healing Den when they need to, but can guide himself to the Rookery for those searches.
Communication, Almost all of his parent dragons are very well versed at both verbal and Vortal speech. Geba speaks English, Vortigese, Fur-Side as well as skin French, Spanish and Korean, and skin side Russian and Chinese. He can comprehend basically anything else thanks to his human companion, however. Because he does have two 'water' types in his line that are adept at sonic manipulation, he can hear and speak in subsonic frequencies, as well as ultrasonic ones - he likes professor Batty's chatty courses! He has a higher-pitched normal speaking voice than you'd expect out of a dragon this size. Also however, he can Vortally communicate with his rider at any distance including dimensional, and with Vortally- or psionically active dragons planet-wide. He cannot speak mentally to other humanoids, so he chooses his words verbally.
*Color Values, the glowing of his spots and markings can be altered strongly - from none at all, to a nearly blinding light. This is a remnant of the Rainwing and Glowdragon genes, though it is under conscious control he tends to glow softly at all times, and slightly brighter in dark areas... not that his rider needs that, he can see in the dark.
Cold Adaptation, he can fly or swim in very cold environments with no ill effects, thanks to his half-ice parent. Though he has little desire to drag his rider up to the Borealis regularly, he can say that he loves scooting around in the icy waters there... However he has been to Wilson's Nordic home, and really adores playing in the snow outside. Even when it's a construct.
Poison Scales and Immunities, not just that half-Rainwing, but other dragons in the mix lend a strong immune system, strong enough to render any toxin, poison, and venom completely useless against him. Also he can produce a weak venom himself, through the scales in his hide, and if something manages to bite him they will get a mouth full of numbness. Some unexpected effects include 'I've ridden dragons for years and my butt has never felt better' - other riders often get 'saddle sore', bumps and bruises from their dragon or harnesses. But an hour-long ride on Geba's back might cure that... at least temporarily.
Parentage: Mixed in the lab from five dragons: Sixth, Umpteenth, Neelua his fathers, and Chaen Jaa'darr and Vra'ell his mothers. They are detailed in the chart below... Geba's gene pool means he has a ton of potential relatives - most of which are "Old World" pernese and Ryslenesque thanks to Sixth being rather randy.
Origin: Adopted from VelenieAdopts with lines by BronzeHalo on Deviantart
Other Info: Considered a remarkable start for a first-time dragon-splice project, Geba has proven himself to be just the right dragon for a guy like Velasco. Bold and smart, certainly confident and a bit of a peacock, he's a hit with virtually any group of dragons as well as humanoids. He is not a fighting dragon, though he absolutely can defend himself with those claws. He does lack any breath-weapon, however, so anything that he wants to attack he'll have to get up close and personal.
