Name: Santana Gomez Gender: Female, Lesbian Age/DOB: 30ish? no one knows, no one's brave enough to ask Origin: Rookery Earth, New Mexico local Family: Dead, a fact which she seems rather pleased about... For whatever reason. Melissa convinces her to be spliced with Manny, and their son is Sergio Other: Though a similar woman existed on Repurposed Earth, she integrated directly into the refugees and basically never looked back. This one's much more... spicy. Notably - the Repurposed Earth version is the genetic basis for Color Guard Sandy, though for all purposes they are the same as this one here Height: 5'2" at most Weight: 100, thoroughly muscular and toned Hair: reddish brown, quite shiny even in this post-apocalyptic era, straight and heavy, usually cut even with shoulders, sometimes (rarely) pulled back into a braid Eyes: vibrantly turquoise green, matching her necklace, almost always narrowed Appearance: medium tan skin with plenty of freckles and moles, tans into bronze in sunlight, has scarring along hands and arms, though whether they are from her prior 'work experience' or from fighting Combine on her own, no one knows Genetic Abilities: it's possible that she has a bit of precognition, and definitely likely to have higher endurance and durability than normal, however none of this is proven Icarus Processing: none, she is absolutely-positive that she would not 'do well' with being put into the process, after it was explained to her. She might stand to do it, anyway, at some point, just to see how durable she really could be if she were Vortally aided. |

Skills or Profession: She has skills relating to food preparation, but also a tremendous amount of book-learning about mechanics, electronics, code, physics both normal and theoretical, and pretty much anything else she could scrape out of the rubble. She has strong survival instincts, and easily appraises a location with a quick glance around. Of course now that the Mesa is all... different? She has to keep reminding herself where she is, in relation to where that pile or hallway used to be. Her navigation skills are also very good, so this hasn't been all that hard.
Personality: Angry, bitter, a firecracker of a girl even back before the Resonance Cascade. Born into an abusive family, she did everything she could to avoid going home, which included remaining at school until dark, putting her mind to work at least as much as her hands. She graduated high school early, quite smart and very dedicated. With an eye toward gaining a degree in mechanical engineering or electronics, Santana applied for an internship at Black Mesa and got it easily... and that was where her proper education ended. But since she survived on her own for more than a decade she's also a bit unhinged, jumpy, and resentful that suddenly now all that she's built is being ... what, reformed by some guy who can teleport? He looks familiar... But she doesn't really fault anyone for wanting to bring the place back, so she's putting her effort into fixing and rebuilding, rather than destroying or holding out alone any more.
Events or History: The Pizza Girl, Santana had been working at the pizza kiosk in Black Mesa when everything went literally sideways during the Resonance Cascade. And unlike the Repurposed world's Mesa, this one didn't get the benefit of, well, not being nuked? She was quite safe where she holed up, with a walk-in freezer lockable from the inside, and weaponry scavenged from the food court. While she did have to fight her way through some headcrabs, zombies, barnacles and the like, she effectively set herself up for long-term residence on site quite early on. She moved through the place looking for books, learning some of the science or mechanical engineering even though the whole place was a tomb. Now that Repurposed Keenan has been renovating the entire Mesa, however, she feels a little put off. After so many years of living on her own, only the occasional dreadful zombie or a spare Vort that pops in and out of phase with the world to keep her company, Santana was a bit unhinged. This is her territory! Once the entire place has been fully fixed up, however, and the situation outside explained, Santana has mostly held her tongue. After all, she was supposed to be putting herself through college and interning at Black Mesa, it was just happenstance that she got a job working at the Pizzaria and even more coincidental that she survived all this time. With the dragons, she feels a lot more comfortable, and enjoys their company more than humans, and fixes to make sure that the Rookery doesn't starve while it fights. |
