Family: Mother Avril, Father Duke, has cousins and extended family on both sides

Other: though her mother carried her for about 5 months, she was transferred into an artificial womb for the last few due to pyrokinetic issues; Avril was not going to be able to carry her full term, mostly because of her size and physical build, but Aetna did not suffer in any way from this, and in fact it allowed Melissa to do the Icarus processing on her at that time rather than later in life

Height: 5'7", looks a bit taller than she is, due to her build

Weight: *around 105, quite slender and fragile looking, but she is hardly delicate, and in fact quite strong with long legs and a frighteningly strong grip

Hair: fiery orange, with equal amounts of red, gold, and yellow; very fluffy and slightly curly, frizzes up in weather changes, kept short due to working near fire

Eyes: brilliant orange-brown, though her father's are blue she definitely carries the flame-coloration of her mother

Appearance: tan skinned with small scars from forge work, keeps work boots and gloves on most of the time, and prefers snug fitting items rather than anything that might catch or snag; has a strong jaw like dad's and full lips like her mother, she's quite pretty but a bit unapproachable, has a husky voice

Icarus Processing: yes, while still in vitro. This process strengthened her bones and joints significantly, lightened her weight by about 50%, and though she does still take a bit of damage on her skin, her bones and muscles have never known to break or rip. Her hands are remarkably strong, she has a lot of upper body strength, and not just from practice with anvil and hammers. It clearly accented her natural abilities and Vortal powers as well.

Genetic Abilities: very strong Pyrokinetics, which she uses mainly in conjunction with a minor 'side' ability to manipulate ores and raw metal substances. Her pyrokinesis is can broadly heat a 10x10 area to combustion levels, or be focused into a 'beam' of plasma-hot fire from one or two fingers, accurate to around 50 meters. She's learning tricks to do with this, but knows that she must be careful, she's not actually immune to flames, though any burns she sustains tend to heal quicker than cuts or scrapes ('forge' damage for her means 'I dropped the hammer on my hand!'). Quite a while after meeting the hippies when they came to the Mesa to perform, she's asked to learn how to juggle - and will absolutely 'juggle fire' for performances in the future! She can't shape cool or already-formed metals, but can heat them up quite easily at distances up to 20 meters, though she generally relies on touch, putting her gloves on after heating the metal. She still requires tools to work on things in the forge, but she seems able to coax problematic shapes or complicated work out of almost any metal. She can with concentration heat up multiple metals and mix them into alloys that are incredibly strong and durable, and reliably makes tools for use on the Ranch, Black Mesa, and even for those in more distant locations as needed. She prefers making tools, but can surely create ultra-sharp weapons, bullets, and even armor to protect her friends. She can sense metals and their levels of purity at 10 meters, so taking her through a scrap-yard for scavenging is quite fun. Though she lacks most other Vortal communication powers, she can sense other strong Vortal minds nearby. Her father's precognitive power shows up in the form of 'inspiration' for her forge work - she claims to see what any given piece of ore or melting metal might become, and nudges it toward that perfect form with her hands and fire.
Skills or Profession: though she had a reasonably normal childhood after an artificial birth, she was aged into a pre-teen and given full downloads for controlling her fire, but also at Avril's suggestion, a strong bunch of engineering and handiwork as well. It is this that she's taken to heart, but also an artistic flair that means her work is always functional but usually pretty as well. Aetna can recognize and use almost any tool around, from wedges and pulleys to wrenches and pneumatic planishing hammers. She does concentrate on those tools which other people need most: pliers, wrenches, hay forks, and hammers. But she has always liked working with wrought iron, and has produced some amazing gates, door knockers, practical things which then have a lot of detail to them. She is reliably found working with her mother on the Ranch, but often enough is called down to Rapture to clean up and provide them with their own specific set of tools for the domes and tunnels. Occasionally she and Forge will be tapped for assaults and rescue missions, often used to distract the enemies while others sneak around - they have a strong 'look at me I'm a dangerous target' aspect, that works well.
Personality: A lot more open and social than her mother, but still focused on work rather than play most of the time. She does enjoy watching other people work with her tools, and is proud of their construction. Aetna is confident and secure in herself, and rarely needs reassuring, but she's also not the type to coddle anyone else. Like her namesake however, she does have a very, very volitile temper if you get on her bad side - she does have a long fuse, but wow when she lets go on someone she will absolutely destroy them with words. She is not above threats of fire, but would not ever aim one of her beams at a human. Combine? Oh yes they will burn nicely though.

Events or History: though her mother didn't have Icarus processing until later in life, it was clear that she would make a great pairing with Duke, and it shows through her command over fire and heat. Aetna is aptly named, mistress of the forge and rider of Forge. Since she was born shortly after the demise of the Combine, she'd known about them but hadn't seen any until the Rookery began. With traveling to a new world and finding a dragon with such similar traits to her own, Aetna is coming into her own both as a smith and a rider.

Resides at the Ranch, but is on call for numerous locations.

Colors: chin, neck, belly, backs of legs, to tail tip deep crimson to blackish red framed with very dark red edging; face, neck, body, limbs, wing arms, to tail tip medium red with graded sooty black on face, feet, tail tip; face armor, neck, dorsal, limb and wing armor brilliant red with prominent black ash and soot marks; dorsal line deep graphite from neck to tail tip; wingsails dark red with light red and dark black sooty/ashen markings; horns, claws, dorsal ridges black; eyes clear light brown
Features: Skywing Nightwing hybrid, likely only a grandparent Night as all features but coloration seem to be strongly Skywing
Powers: Winged Flight, as a masterful Skywing Forge is reliably a fast, agile flier. She can stay aloft for hours at a time, and is usually found soaring around the Ranch patrolling while Aetna is at work on the forge. She can carry heavy items for short distances, with care, but generally wants other dragons to do that heavy lifting for large equipment. She does enjoy carrying riders and guests, and can fit a dozen human-sized people on her back and shoulders with absolutely no trouble.
Communication, her Nightwing blood does offer her a stronger Vortal presence than many Skywings have, and she is intimately aware of her rider's mind as well as others around them. She chooses to speak English and Draconic, though she does understand Vortigese to a certain extent, and speaks with a clear and even tone.
Fire Production, all that red in her coloration does mean Forge is exactly as advertised: a brilliant and dangerous user of heat and flame, ash and soot. Her flames are quite hot even at a distance of up to 50 meters away from the actual fire, so she can pinpoint a spot with an ultra-hot dagger of flame, and the entire block around it will light up. She can accurately destroy cow-sized creatures at 100 meters, and engulf areas in a fan or plume of broad heat that will ignite anything flammable instantly. Most of her targets wind up looking just like her marked wings: red, black, and on the wind. Her internal temperature is quite warm, but she keeps herself from burning anything she stands on with ease. If she were to roll around in underbrush or over at the Grounds, they would have a hard time putting out the wild fires though.
Parentage: Mother Loveletter, father Harrier, their combined genes allow the Nightwing in her to show up
