Name: Dr. Gordon Freeman, Theoretical Physicist Gender: Male, bisexual, however he is much more of a romantic with Barney than anyone else Age/DOB: 27ish/1979, stasis for 12+ years Origin: Seattle, WA / Repurposed Earth / Carramba Family: Clio and Winslow Freeman, Parents, Deceased; Repurposed Earth has several dozen engineered children, mainly among normal non-Vortal families, but in the Pantheon including Angel with Melissa, Carl with Chell and Joshua spliced with Barney; Donor parent of Coral and Umber in the Color Guard, and oddly enough son Gareth with Violet of the Color Guard; Granddaughter Ursula (Umber/Janice) Others: Is a 'close friend' of Barney Calhoun, Isaac Kleiner, Eli Vance and other scientists from Black Mesa, and is definitely close with Chell. Carramba contacts and those found in Paragon. Gordon gets around. Height: 6'0 Weight: 190, surprisingly muscular for a scientist, particularly upper body strength Hair: Auburn red-brown, kept short, slightly messy, sometimes has a short tail Eyes: Green, dark, with glasses Appearance: Fair skinned with some scars and freckles, keeps well-maintained vandyke beard, wears corrective lenses with thick black frames; he's almost never seen without that HEV suit, however much he might complain about it pinching in the wrong places he knows how valuable it really is - now if only he could find the helmet... Genetic Abilities: Gordon is a 'Vortal Battery', capable of genetically enhancing others in the gene pool. He can also 'sense the force', seeing auras and reacting before his other senses normally would. These abilities were latent or effectively unconsciously used before Melissa explained them to him and had him work on honing them. Icarus Processing: None, though if he did have this process done his abilities would become active rather than latent. Of note, his time spent in stasis did have a strong effect on his Vortal strength, but not quite as much as if he'd had Icarus. |

Skills or Profession: Theoretical Physics, PhD; Electronics, BA; Button Pushing; Paperwork; Improvised Weaponry, Crowbar; Paintball Guns, Handguns, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, Crossbow, Automatic Rifles, Rocket Launchers, Grenades/Launchers, etc etc etc; Proficient with Hazard Environment Suits mk 4 and 5; Driving. As a scientist working at Black Mesa Research Facility he was expected to aid other scientists in experimentation - that led directly to the Resonance Cascade which destroyed the facility and almost the world. But his clever use of equipment and his strong sense of survival helped him make it through that event, and into the future where he fought the Combine with equal zeal. This is the Repurposed Earth version, so he has not lost 'everything' as he had in others. Also, he's met and chatted up several other versions of himself, and is constantly surprised when other Keenan Lanes come by to apologize for one thing or another. He's interested in learning how to master multidimensionality, and there are plenty of people at Carramba who can do that.
Personality: Gordon has always been a science oriented type. From an early age he was able to disassemble and remake equipment from his household appliances, and usually had improved any technology that was given to him as a gift within hours. Though some seem to think he's all but mute, Gordon is quite talkative but only in the right settings. He tends to ramble with a stream of consciousness leading him to new discoveries as well as occasionally poking holes in his own theories. Gordon's interests in science never stopped him from enjoying physical pursuits as well, and he played a lot of paintball as a kid and teenager, avoided beatings by the school bullies by running quickly, and held his own in most sports. These skills aided him in his later survival at Black Mesa during the Resonance Cascade, and later fighting the Combine. He occasionally can be rather grim: he knows that he's responsible for the deaths of many soldiers and Vortigaunts, and doesn't like to talk about it.
Events or History: He graduated High School quite early, and was able to attend college classes at the age of 14 before then, attended MIT and went on to pursue his thesis work at Innsbruck Institute. From there he was brought to Black Mesa where he worked around 18 months before the Resonance Cascade and the events found documented elsewhere. Though Gordon is said to be in his late 20s, his actual age is somewhat difficult to pin down. He was in stasis for more than a decade between the Resonance Cascade and the fight with the Combine, but he was also available at Carramba High for at least a decade before a dragon bonded to him. Like many who move between realms, he shows a kind of immortality that might or might not be aided by other powers. He has a history with jaunting around Paragon City, which he enjoys tremendously, as well as working at Carramba. Currently he resides full time at the Rookery (when he is not, in fact, at Paragon or Carramba...) however he takes a lot of trips via portal, to wherever they're needed. His Carramba teaching schedule is Theoretical Physics 2, 3, 6; Improvisational Weaponry And You 7, 8. He has a Twoarth Fur-Side counterpart in the form of G0rd-OS, a once-living but now-synthetic akita-kin who also teaches there... and has bonded to one of his dragons' offspring. |

Gordon has over time bonded with not one but two dragons, quite disparate ones actually, but they get along very well and enjoy each other's company as much as Gordon's. Ay'geevee and Grabbity of course are named for his equipment, but... they figure he's had that stuff on him a while, let him have his weird names. They call each other different things in private. Notably the dragons participated together in the Hallowed Silk project and their offspring include Aim And Shoot, CAPSLOCK, That's A Wrap, and Colorful Candy Shell |
